Clinical Support Tools Deployment

A standard deployment of CSTools at a medical facility resides in a virtualized CentOS 64Bit Linux server. This virtual server may be located within the facility's internal network or remotely, through use of cloud technology. CSTools v2.0 and v3.0 are available as a deployable image to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Production Deployment

This server provides a host platform for the required services, application server, and database. Licensing of FDB's NDDF used in the server is based upon the facility's number of patient beds. As a result, access to CSTools is limited to the facility's intranet and local VISTA installation. FDB database updates are applied monthly and require minimal system downtime. Software support services are provided as a part of the CSTools license and available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Development Deployment

CSTools may also be deployed for development purposes to clients building a VISTA system. When deploying for this pupose, care is taken to simulate a realistic clinical environment for testing. The FDB NDDF license is based on the clients' testing requirements. As with Production Licenses, FDB updates are applied monthly and 24/7/365 support services are available.

Other service plans are also available to meet a wide variety of service needs.

Some modifications must be made to a VISTA system in order to utilize CSTools 3.0. These modifications may be obtained through support from the VISTA Expertise Network. Version 2.0 is a plug-and-play MOCHA substitute module if a facility's VISTA instance uses a Cache database.
